Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions for ‘ArtistsWorkbench’
Last Updated: December 2025
Introduction:
ArtistsWorkbench (AWB) is a personal-use (no other users) application for Miriam Esteve (hereby referred to as ‘artist’), and is used to manage painting activities, details and images. It also manages workflows involving artwork, shows, sales, and related administration. The app runs in the cloud on the Heroku platform. The system currently manages around 300 paintings and the artist produces 4-6 new paintings per month.
Data Collection:
The artist creates and owns 100% of the data in the app, which is stored in a secure Postgres database with the Heroku cloud environment.
3rd Party Integration:
AWB integrates with several 3rd party platforms to help the artist manage her workflows:
SquareSpace:
The artist uses Squarespace as the artists’s general website, for which there is no integration. The artist also uses the Squarespace store for web-based and point-of-sale sales to buyers. This is enabled by use of Squarespace developer API’s within the app.
From AWB, the artist is able to add/delete/update paintings (products) for sale in her online store. This helps the artists manage what is for sale online as the artist also participates in shows and fairs where her paintings need to be temporarily added or removed from the online store. AWB polls Squarespace once an hour to synchronize order, transaction and purchaser information and update its internal database (the developer is currently applying for oauth access to eliminate polling and receive order notifications via the web hook API).
Currently, AWB uses the artist’s non-auth access tokens to interact with Squarespace.
All integration with Squarespace adheres to the Squarespace's Platform Terms and Developer Policies.
Square:
Upon a sale, AWB uses transaction data it receives from Squarespace to retrieve additional details about the transaction from Square. This data is used for various financial and administrative tasks within AWB.
All integration with Square adheres to the Square Platform Terms and Developer Policies.
Pinterest:
AWB is currently looking for approval from Pinterest to create a pin in the artist’s Pinterest account for each new painting logged.
Amazon S3
AWB stores the artist’s images in the Amazon S3 system.
All integration with S3 adheres to the Amazon S3 Platform Terms and Developer Policies.
Data Usage & Sharing:
All application data (including the artist’s data sourced from 3rd party platforms above) is only used within the app and to support its core functions. No data is sold or made available to 3rd parties for sale or analysis.
User Rights:
The artist owns the data 100% and can gain total access to their data via the app or by contacting the developer. The developer has assistant’s privileges within most 3rd party apps.
At any time the artists can revoke access via their Heroku or Squarespace accounts using the online dashboard and tools provided, eg the artist can change password, delete authorized assistants, revoke access tokens, etc..
Security
AWB uses a secure (two-factor) Heroku Node environment backed with a Postgres database to secure all data.
Changes to Policy
As the artist and developer are spouses, all changes are regularly discussed,
